| TECHNICAL DETAILS OF BACTASILK |

It is often observed that, a protein namely Sericin is covers on the silk fibroin. This protein is damaging the surface of silk surface. BACTASILK IS SILK DEGUMMING ENZYME AND PROTEOLYTIC ENZYME BASED ON ALKALY and produced by fermentation. This enzyme is hydrolyse the sericin while reducing the dame to the surface of silk fibres.
THE FOLLOWING ADVANTAGES ARE GIVING BY BACTASILK OVER DEGUMMING |
- There is a little looseness formed while degumming that does not mean a damage; as a matter of fact, the same will be diverted into an excellent quality of fibre.
- After the degumming, the decolouration of the silk can be retarded.
- If the temperature, concentration of the enzyme and reaction time, will adjust then the weight loss can be easily modified.
- The silk is treated –in degumming process at a low temperature; the cost can reduce and can prevent weakening the fibres.

| THE METHOD AND APPLICATION FOR DE-GUMMING OF PLAIN SILK FABRICS ARE FOLLOWS |

| FIRST STEP: PRE-DEGUMMING
|
|
We suggest that, to gain a good weight loss pre-degumming, the process should be carried out a higher temperature. It is also recommended that, if high whiteness is desired, a little of sodium dithionite additionally. 1:30 is the bath ratio for the process and the bath solution is Na2Sio3 – 9H2o2.0 gm/lit. (Sodium Silicate) or Na2S2o4.0.5 gm/lit (Sodium Thionite). Temperature should be higher than 95° C and the time is required 5 to 10 minutes. |

| SECOND STEP: DEGUMMING (ENZYMATIC). |

|
If the clothes are a combination of silk with wool, cotton or synthetic fibre; pre-degumming is not required; only BACTASILK degumming is enough.

BACKTASILK is available in 25 Kgs. HDPE bags for convenient of users.
We strongly suggest that BACTAFEEL should be stored in cool and dry place. If the enzyme will keep under 25° C the same can keep it’s declared activity more than six months
